Can I use a wide-angle photo of my room?

Yes. Wide-angle photos work well and are very common since most phone cameras default to a slightly wide lens when shooting indoors. The AI places the furniture in perspective to match the wide-angle view of the room, so the result still looks natural and proportionate.

The case where very wide angles can introduce issues is with extreme fisheye lenses that heavily distort proportions at the edges of the frame. Furniture placed in those distorted edge areas can look slightly off because the perspective at the frame edges does not accurately reflect real spatial relationships.

A normal or moderately wide photo from any standard phone camera is fine and will produce a good preview. The standard ultra-wide mode on most phones is also generally fine. Only dedicated fisheye lenses or extremely aggressive distortion causes noticeable placement issues.

DecorViz works with any standard phone photo, including the slightly wide default that most phones use indoors. Try it free on your own photo.
