What kind of room photo gives the best furniture preview?

A well-lit, eye-level photo taken from standing height, facing the wall where the furniture will go. Phone cameras in standard mode work fine. The key variables are light quality and angle, not camera quality.

Natural daylight is the best light source because it reveals the true colors of walls, floors, and existing furniture. This gives the AI more accurate reference data for matching the lighting on the placed piece. Avoid photos taken at night under only artificial light, heavily filtered photos, or shots where a large window blows out the exposure.

Angle matters more than most people expect. A photo taken from too low (sitting or crouching) distorts proportions. A photo taken from too far to one side reduces visibility of the target wall. Standing height, roughly centered on the wall you want to evaluate, gives the AI the most useful perspective for placing furniture accurately.

DecorViz works with ordinary phone photos taken in normal room conditions. Try it free on your own photo.
