Can I use a screenshot as a product image?
Yes. A screenshot of a product listing page works fine as long as the product is clearly visible and takes up a significant portion of the frame. Screenshots from retailer websites like IKEA, Wayfair, or Amazon where the main product photo fills most of the page are ideal sources.
The cases where screenshots cause lower quality results are those that include too much surrounding page interface: browser navigation bars, page headers, sidebar menus, ads, or large white margins that reduce the product itself to a small portion of the overall image. When the product is only a small object in a large screenshot, the placement quality suffers.
The fix is simple: crop the screenshot close to the product before uploading. A tightly cropped screenshot showing just the product on its background is nearly as effective as downloading the product image directly from the retailer.
DecorViz accepts screenshots as product images. Crop them close to the product for the best result, then upload alongside your room photo. Try it free on your own photo.
