Can I see a headboard in my bedroom before buying?
Yes. Take a photo of your bedroom from the foot of the bed, facing the headboard wall. Include enough of the ceiling in the shot to see the headboard height in relation to the ceiling line. Find the main product image of the headboard from the retailer. Upload both to DecorViz to see the headboard placed in your bedroom before you order.
The two things headboard previews are most useful for are height proportion and finish. A tall upholstered headboard reads very differently in a room with 8-foot ceilings versus one with 10-foot ceilings, and product pages give you no way to judge that for your specific room. Seeing how much ceiling remains above the headboard is a judgment that only makes sense in your actual space.
Finish is the second variable. The same headboard in cream velvet versus dark linen reads as an entirely different piece against a white wall versus a warm-painted one. Your existing bedding, nightstands, and flooring change how the headboard finish reads in a way that product photography in a generic styled room cannot show you.
If you are comparing more than one headboard, run the same bedroom photo with each option. The differences in height and finish become obvious side by side. Try it free on your own photo.
